Cori Bush

Cori, native of St. Louis, is a former early childhood educator, a community-based health registered nurse, and an ordained pastor. She is a survivor of sexual assault and domestic violence, and has felt the burden of being uninsured, homeless and living from paycheck to paycheck. She believes that the United States should catch up to every other modern nation and implement a single-payer, medicare-for-all system. She is a community organizer, using her experiences to fight for the disadvantaged, disenfranchised and the voiceless. She is the co-founder of the Truth Telling Project and presenter on nonviolent conflict. Active in progressive Democratic causes, she has received awards for her courage and is the first candidate for Congress formally endorsed by Brand New Congress and Justice Democrats.
