Pritesh Gandhi is a Democrat running for the U.S. House in Texas District 10. Born in Houston, Pritesh advocates for initiatives which address the root causes of poverty. Gandhi holds degrees in international relations and economics from Tufts University and completed the MD and MPH at the Tufts School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. He also studied at the London School of Economics and Johns Hopkins. Gandhi speaks about childhood poverty and health, and has testified to both the Texas House and Senate public health committees. “As a physician, I engage with people at their most vulnerable,” Gandhi said. “Their stories don’t get heard. I feel it’s my duty to speak and explain their message.” Pritesh Gandhi is an internist, pediatrician and community activist and is associate chief medical officer at the People’s Community Clinic in East Austin. He is an affiliate faculty in population health and pediatrics at Dell Medical School.
