Growing up in Massachusetts, Rick and his four siblings were raised by two working parents. He attended Penn State University on an athletic scholarship (swimming), and graduated in 1984 with a B.A. in computer science. He moved to Texas from Massachusetts in 2006. He has spent his career leading teams that would go on to help develop software that formed key building blocks of the internet. Rick has worked for both small and large companies like Lucent Technologies and Dell. In addition, he is a project management consultant for small and medium businesses implementing accounting software including compliance with federal regulations. Rick’s 25-plus years of experience with people and project management give him a strong background to tackle the unique challenges that face anyone willing to serve in Congress. Rick has experience working in Dell factories here in the US as well as in China, Malaysia, Poland and beyond. Rick’s business activities have allowed him the opportunity to meet and work alongside people of many diverse cultures, languages, and political persuasions. He is married with three children.
